Kirsty Shelton Principal Planner

 

Kirsty is the Principal Land Use Planner and owner of Palisades Land Use Consultancy based out of Napa.  Prior to starting her own practice in the Spring of 2018, she was the primary land Use Planner at the San Francisco based Law Firm, Farella Braun + Martel LLP based out of the St. Helena office.  Prior to that, she was a senior land use planner for the County of Napa for eight years.  She has over two decades of local land use experience and has valuable experience on both sides of the county which helps bridge the gap of communication between public and private sectors. Projects include items such as controversial winery projects, environmental analysis, and public policy.  

She in an Accredited Professional from the American Planning Associations, holds certificates in Real Estate Development, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and Small Wind Energy Systems from the University of California, Davis and is an accredited professional in Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). In 2002 Kirsty earned a Master of Engineering with a concentration in sustainable land development from the Massey University of New Zealand and a B.A. in environmental studies & planning from Sonoma State University.
